The 6x6 101 FC.
Kevin Winn
This unique Land Rover was built/completed by Kevin in 2002, and debuted at the Peterborough show that year.
It as built from two 101 Forward Control Ambulances and an additional GS chassis.
It carries a 1976 (P suffix) registation number.
Unusually, it is a true 6x6, although the transmission is switchable from the cab between two, four and six wheel drive.
It is dual-fuel, running on petrol and LPG.
The vehicle’s primary function is as an overland camper.
It is equipped with all the necessary essentials for this purpose including a double bed, sink, hob, fridge, air conditioning, heating, storage space, lockers and two spare wheels.
The 101 is often regarded as the most rugged vehicle Land Rover ever made, and the toughness of the base vehicle has been continued through the 6x6 conversion.
This vehicle is a unique piece of Land Rover history, and attracts a great deal of attention at shows and events.

Nick Kay
Nick bought the 101 from Kevin Winn.
This period in it's life is as yet unresearched, and more detail will hopefully appear on this in the future.
However, it is known that Nick sold the vehicle on to David French.
David French
David bought the 101 from Nick Kay to use for travelling expeditions.
He made some changes to the vehicle before he set off, not least to the outside of the vehicle.
To make sure it was not mistaken for a military vehicle during his travels, the 101 was painted with blocks of bright colour.
The truck has travelled around Europe, and has just completed a return trip around West Africa, as far south as Guinea.
You can read a full and honest account of this vehicle’s West Africa trip at westafrica2006.blogspot.com.
