Land Rover Defender Access Platforms.
Leicestershire company Allan Access Limited have been building Land Rover based Cherry Pickers for some years.
The company started out back in 1993, carefully and steadily developing their business from the servicing of the machinery, to include refurbishment and finally the building of new machines.
Although Land Rover based vehicles are an important market, Allan Access also supply platforms fitted to vans and trucks.

Being biased, however, we are going to look just at the Land Rover based products.
Defender 110 and 130 are the machines of choice for this application, as they provide an readily adaptable base vehicle.
Being Defender based, there are of course many optional extras available, including Aluminium protection pack, tyre options, winches, and locker boxes.

Pricing will obviously vary with vehicle spec, but currently prices start at around £43,000 plus VAT, with fully loaded versions topping £55k.
As you can see from the pictures, typical applications for the Land Rover based vehicles are electricity grid repairs and grounds maintenance.
The Central Network machines are all earthed, so each boom has an earth strap to the next boom, and the boom is earthed to the cabin and chassis, and then an earth spike is provided to clamp
to a copper bracket mounted on the rear subframe and the spike is stuck into the ground.
Most come with Hydraulic power tools couplings at the cage, so hydraulic pruners and chainsaws can be used.
