Breakdown Cover

Details

Anybody who has driven a few miles or owned an aged Landy for a while will eventually have a 'component failure situation' - the dreaded breakdown. Usually these happen when you least need them to - in the dark, in the rain, either on the busiest or the most desolate stretch of road known to man. We know most 'old Landy' owners have a few tools and 'bits' stored in the motor when embarking on a long-ish trek, but one extra tool that's always worth carrying in your vehicle is your breakdown assistance card.

Breakdown cover levels can vary from basic roadside assistance to full recovery packages and even European breakdown assistance. The RAC offer all of the services mentioned above and many more besides. With RAC breakdown cover you pay an annual fee and if your vehicle breaks down you give them a call for assistance. Of course it pays to tailor your cover levels to suit your needs or skills, but nobody wants to be stuck on the hard shoulder of the motorway without some means of rescue, and planning ahead is definitely cheaper than hoping for the best. With typical response times of just 40 minutes, you could be back on the road in under an hour.

For the times when your Landy has totally thrown a wobbler, roadside recovery might be the way forward. Having had cause myself to need such a service, I must say that having such cover certainly lightens the stress levels when you could do without hassle.
