Kahn 'New discovery'

Details

Arriving in Kahn design's ‘new discovery’ at the oscars or at a movie premiere would ensure everyone will know someone special is about make a grand entrance; however, one must not forget that the ‘new discovery’ is not only a powerful machine - it is also family friendly - ideal for families looking for practicality and something different.

Whether you decide to drive with no-frills or charming rationale, the choice is yours. However, one thing for certain, the innovative 22” RS-R wheels with simple clean lines, soft organic surfaces on the edges of the spoke and a purposeful mechanical centre offers a whole new breadth of excitement, taking the vehicle to a whole new dimension.

The new discovery’s, extended contour is immediately recognisable with an outstanding styling package consisting of front and rear arch spats, front and rear bumper unit, twin mesh grille, side vents, L.E.D running lights, lowered sports and exhaust system and privacy glass.

Inside is the 'bespoke touch'. We provide our customers with the opportunity to express one’s individuality. And they can have whatever they want. We could, for example, design for you a vehicle with an exterior and an interior to suit the exact specification of the customer.

All our vehicles are built with the same philosophy; that only the best is good enough and that customers should not have to submit to the conformity that the mass produced car market places on them.

Discovery 4

Details

Discovery 4 2009 -

In September 2009 the Discovery 4 was launched in the UK.

Discovery 4 is available with a new 3 litre TDV6 diesel engine amongst it's arsenal of new features, along with e_Terrain technologies to boost economy and lower CO2 emissions, restyled grilles, revised bumpers and LED lighting and completely redesigned interiors, along with enhanced terrain response, surround camera system, Automatic High Beam Assist and Trailer Stability Assist.

The 3 litre TDV6 tops the 2.7 litre diesel by 29 percent (power) and 36 percent (torque) respectively, with nine percent improvements in economy and CO2 emissions over the 2.7 litre V6. The brand new engine is supplemented by well proven existing power units on the options list, like the 2.7 litre TDV6 and the 3.6 litre TDV8. 6 speed manual or 6 speed automatic transmissions are available.

The Discovery 4 also benefits from Trailer Stability Assist, a towing aid which detects trailer oscillations and intervenes using the brakes and by reducing engine torque. There are also further improvements to the Terrain Response system. The addition of a new 'sand launch control' prevents wheels digging in when driving away in soft sand. The acclaimed Hill Descent Control system has also been enhanced with the addition of Gradient Release Control. This inhibits the initial rate of acceleration making descent of very steep inclines much smoother.

For 2011 the 3 litre SDV6 engine became an option, producing 256 PS (188 Kw) @4000rpm, compared to the 211 PS (155 Kw) @4000rpm that the 3 litre TDV6 engine produces. The TDV6 remains an option, and both engines are now mated to the ZF 8HP70 8-speed automatic transmission. Export customers can choose a 5 litre V8 petrol engine producing 375 PS (276 Kw) @6500rpm, mated to the ZF 6HP28 6-speed automatic transmission.
