Karmann Land Rover

The Karmann-Ghia do Brasil Ltda car plant was a subsidiary of the Wilhelm Karmann GmbH. They built Defenders using Land Rover CKD kits between 1999 and 2006 for the Barzilian market. D90, D110 and D130 vehicles have been built in both civilian and military models.

Around 5000 have been produced with a locally built Land Rover licenced Maxion 300Tdi engine, over all around 40 percent of the vehicle parts were sourced in Brazil.
