For the Range Rover based 'Unitruck', Coventry-based specialist coachbuilders Carbodies were commissioned to convert the two-door Range Rover model into a general-purpose vehicle for agricultural use – a sort of upmarket Land Rover, in fact.
Only three or four vehicles were built, as the high cost of the finished product meant that marketing the conversion not a viable proposition. This didn't stop them from producing a brochure on the model though, just in case. This Range Rover pickup conversion was offered with a host of optional extras, including air conditioning, towing equipment, low ground pressure tyres, winch and suspension options. The pictures below are taken from the 1982 sales brochure.
