Guard Dog Security Service.
Guard Dog Security Services Ltd is a multi-discipline security company, based in Papua New Guinea, with their head office in Port Moresby.
They offer Static Guarding, Guard and Dog combinations, Sector Patrols, and Security Escorts, and have over three hundred purpose bred security Dogs.
(A cross between the North American Timber Wolf and German Shepherds called Timber Shepherds).
GDSS's associate companies cover electronic security systems, and two-way radio communications and repeater services.
Guard Dog Security also run armoured car Cash in Transit services, and have eighteen armoured vehicles on the fleet.
The Shorland
Some years ago they obtained a Shorland armoured Land Rover, which was intended for use as a cash-in-transit vehicle.
The vehicle is a Shorland Mk 4, Serial number SB.401 RH405, Chassis number LBG AUJ AA 155---.
The vehicle needed to be modified to suit the new role, these modifications being done at the company's workshops.
Once the modifications were completed, it was immediately put to use, and it remains in use today.
The pictures shown on the page were taken after a recent refurbishment of the vehicle.
 
 
Most of the other vehicles on the fleet used for this application have been made in their own workshops, based on the Toyota Land Cruiser chassis.
